Did you know the extremely talented WNBA and Opals star Ezi Magbegor played her junior days in the Northern Melbourne suburb of Coburg!
Born in New Zealand to Nigerian parents, Magbegor moved to Australia with her family at age six. She played for the Northern Rebels club and then selected for the Coburg Giants in her junior representative days. Ezi has worked her way through the Victorian pathway all the way to the Australian Opals and the Seattle Storm in the WNBA. She is thankful to the hardworking volunteers and coaches at Coburg who helped her get where she is today.
Coburg Basketball Association runs Women’s, Men’s and Mixed basketball competitions across many grades throughout the week running both Summer and Winter competitions.
We can’t promise any WNBA matchups at Coburg Basketball Stadium on a weeknight, but you might just play against the next big (or little) thing!
